The yard is looking good:



At the entry to the courtyard, the honeysuckle growing on the custom metalwork is stunning:


There will be more blooming soon, on the other side of the arches. The scent is intoxicating.

In the pond, which is at the north end of the courtyard, the pond marigolds are just done blooming, but the waterlilies have just started! The lavender will soon be in full bloom as well.


I took this last photo from the north end of the pond. (It's hard to describe, but well worth seeing in person.) The lupins are stunning.


Not many people read this blog, so I'm not incentivized to post very often. It's just so lovely out there that I couldn't resist.


I think I may just post photos here for a while, rather than try to write anything.


Oh heck, here's one more:


We have a grove of trees on the property that we've basically left wild. There's a pond and spring in there (we have water rights on the spring), and the area evolves as nature intends. Lupins and irises have naturalized on the swath of grass that borders the grove. (Or, that borders the lawn, depending on how you look at things.)


It really is special here.
