Yard Harvest

In talking to a young couple considering a move to West Creston, the reputation of the area came up. Specifically, some locals are of the opinion that West Creston is cooler than the rest of the valley, and therefore food crops don't do well. (By "some locals" I'm not referring to West Crestonites, who know better but maintain the myth in order to keep out the riff-raff.)

I was thinking about that earlier today as I picked blueberries.....

and gooseberries.............

red currants......

black currants.....

goji berries.....

and raspberries!
All this bounty, harvested in the sun, with no bug bites.
Rain, shade and mosquitos are exaggerations for another day, however. For now, I'm just going to eat.
