Feeling hot, hot, hot.....

We're having a heat wave. Days of 95F, 35C. We're fortunate to have a grove of trees on the northwest corner of the property. Every day, late in the afternoon, those trees throw shade onto the house; we open the windows and let the cool fresh air in while all around we see the sun still beating down on the neighbours.

I love that grove. When we first looked at the property, back in 2003, I remember being thrilled by the spring-fed pond in the grove. When we had our well installed, and it turned out to be artesian, we had the overflow directed into that pond, which overflows and feeds into a stream just on the other side of the fence at the back of the property.
